Mindfulness matters

mindfulness 2Back in April, Newark’s Balance Studio hosted a free screening of the film The Connection – Mind Your Body.

It marked the launch of Sue Cooper’s Community Health and Wellbeing initiative and this Saturday she’ll be in the studio telling the Girls Around Town all about it.

Along with Philippa Burnett from Balance, Sue will be talking about the direct connection between our minds and our bodies and how we can benefit by integrating the latest science in mind-body medicine into our everyday lives.

Join June, Tina, Sue and their two guests from 10am till 1pm on Saturday, on air or online, to find out just how much mindfulness really matters…

It’s vintage darling!

vintage darling eventsAfter a whirlwind appearance for the first hour next Saturday, Tina and Sue will be leaving June holding the fort for the rest of the show, while they head off to judge entries in The Big Newark Bake Off.

But she’s more than happy to let them eat cake (even if it is chocolate) since she’ll be indulging in another of the Girls Around Town‘s passions, albeit only talking about it!

Joining June shortly after 11am will be Clare Lees from Vintage Darling Events, with news of something special taking place on Sunday 28 June.

With clothing, memorabilia, furniture, crafts and jewellery all on sale, the Radcliffe Vintage Fair is a must if, like the girls, you love shopping.

There’ll be a rock ‘n’ roll DJ, hair and beauty makeovers and children’s entertainment too – and Elsie the Vintage Caravan will be putting in an appearance to serve up scrumptious cream teas…

Tune in from 10am to 1pm on Saturday or listen online to find out more. And look out for the girls in Radcliffe a week on Sunday, chances are they won’t be able to resist a visit!
