2 medium onions, peeled and sliced
2 green chillies, seeded and chopped (optional)
3 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped
3-4 chicken breasts, skinned and chopped into bite sized pieces

      ½ tsp ground coriander seeds
      2 tbs tomato puree

Method

    1. Heat the oil in a heavy-based frying pan, then fry the onion, chilli and garlic for a few minutes, add chicken pieces and continue to fry for about 5 minutes.
    2. When the mixture begins to brown add salt, turmeric, cumin and coriander to the chicken mixture.
    3. Stir well and continue to fry.
    4. Add the tomato puree and garam masala.
    5. If you like you could add some other vegetables to the chicken.
    6. This recipe feeds 4 people so you can cut down on ingredients or have left-overs the next day.

Taking action to take care of your gut

From creating a healthy lifestyle to cooking up a simple supper – this week’s guest on Girls Around Town has all that and more to share in the second hour of the show.

A holistic health and nutrition coach, Amanda Whitehead will be live in the studio with June, explaining how she helps overwhelmed men and women aged 35+ increase their energy, enhance their sleep and get back their bounce…

And what’s more, how they can do it all without calorie counting!

She’ll be sharing details of how, through her business Purposefully Nourished, she works with clients to help them create a clean, sustainable lifestyle, along with some of the top tips she offers that help them take action to take care of their gut health.

Someone who definitely practises what she preaches, she says “As a mum, I must constantly remind myself that when I take care of myself, I am taking care of everyone around me.

“And when I follow my gut health, I take care of my body, mind, and self.”

Don’t forget to Put On Your Sunday Best by tuning in to 107.8FM or listening on the apps, on Alexa or online from just after 11am for those top tips from Amanda…

And make sure you stay tuned all the way to the top of the hour – if you’re looking for a super simple way to curry favour with family or friends, you won’t want to miss the recipe she has to share!

Picture perfect

It’s an oft-used saying and one that applies to lots of different situations…

But You’ll never get a second chance to make a first impression definitely fits the bill when it comes to online dating!

There’s no doubt that people giving those apps a go usually make up their mind in a split second so it’s important to catch their eye and make sure that first impression really is a good one…

And that’s just one of the things that photographer Gemma Wilks, this week’s guest on Girls Around Town, sets out to do for clients.

Gemma will be in the studio with June in the second hour of the show to explain how she’s on a mission to abolish those bathroom selfies, replacing them with eye-catching photos and dating profiles that stop singles in their scroll.

Online dating isn’t for everyone of course, which is why she also hosts regular Single and Mingle evenings in Nottingham where guests can meet up over a drink and a bite to eat in the old-fashioned way.

And that’s not all – inspired by Channel 4’s First Dates, she’s just launched Table For Two which matches suitable couples over a delicious meal…

The only difference being there’s no TV crew present and of course no Fred Sirieix greeting guests on their arrival at the restaurant!

Make sure you Put On Your Sunday Best on 107.8FM, on the apps or online to hear what Gemma has to say from just after 11am this weekend…

When no doubt she and June will have plenty to share about their own first dates too, both successful and otherwise!!
