A bit of midlife magic

Would you like to find the real you and feel ‘visible’ again? Overcome the mind blocks that are keeping you stuck? Find the confidence to live your life to the full?

Meet Beverley Thorogood, this week’s guest on Girls Around Town, who can help you do all this and more…

Bev will be joining Rosalyn and Rachel on Sunday to explain what prompted her to start her own midlife ‘metamorphosis’ when she turned 50 in 2016.

And how, through Floresco Health and Lifestyle Coaching, she’s now giving other women all the tools, support and encouragement they need to find balance and purpose in their lives.

“Having worked for the MOD for 30 years, I was stuck in a rut, didn’t feel like I was living my life on purpose and struggling with low self-esteem,” she says. “After a lifestyle overhaul, I took stock, changed direction completely and retrained as a personal trainer, nutritionist and behaviour change coach.

“Now the personal coaching, offline group coaching courses and retreats I offer are designed not only to show clients what to do, but also to teach them how to do the things they need to do to reach their highest goals.”

Tune in or listen online between 10am and 12 noon when Bev will be describing NEST, the model she developed to act as a framework to help women find that all-important balance in key areas of health and wellbeing, and sharing a few of her top tips on how to find your own midlife magic…

Taking control of your hormones

A hot topic – in more ways than one! – on the agenda for this week’s show when Pamela Windle joins Rosalyn and June in the studio to describe how she guides clients through the perimenopause and menopause, helping them recreate lasting hormonal balance.

“Think of me as the sister you’ve never had but with the added bonus of women’s health and hynotherapy certifications!” says Pamela.

“Being a woman, a partner and a mother, I understand very well the challenges you might be facing right now in your life. I’ve faced plenty of health challenges of my own and helped hundreds of women feel happier, healthier and stronger so they can start living life on THEIR terms, instead of being a victim of their bodies.”

Tune in or listen online between 10am and 12 noon on Sunday to hear Pamela sharing her own story with the Girls Around Town.  She’ll be talking too about some of the common symptoms and solutions, her thoughts on HRT and what she means when she says ‘Your hormones are more than a reflection of your fertility’.

Do you want to take control of your hormonal happiness, to feel amazing? Then you’ll want to hear what she has to say…

Flushed with success

How time flies! It’s been a year since menopause campaigner Deborah Garlick last joined the Girls Around Town. But she’s back this weekend with an update on what has been an incredibly busy – and very successful – 12 months…

When she was on the show in October 2016, Deborah and her Henpicked colleagues had just created the Twitter sensation #HotFlashMob and put World Menopause Day and Nottinghamshire on the map.

Since then, she’s taken things to the next level, getting blue-chip businesses to develop menopause support programmes for their staff. And with companies such as Severn Trent, Next and PepsiCo involved, as well as Nottinghamshire Police, real change is on the way.

Tune in or listen online between 10am and 12 noon to find out exactly what Deborah’s been up to since her last visit to the studio. And to say ‘goodbye’ for the time being at least to Fiona, who’ll be handing over the reins as the show’s wellbeing guru to Rosalyn from next month…

She’ll be back before long though, with updates on her own new adventures working with Inspire – watch this space for news of her return!
