The WeightWise way

weightwiseIf you’ve tried every diet out there and you’re still struggling to manage your weight, you’ll want to hear this!

On Sunday’s show, Lesley Butlin and Liz Blatherwick from the Newark-based WeightWise Academy will be in the studio to talk about how a different approach can really make a difference…

They’ll be joining the Girls Around Town to explain some of the psychological reasons why diets don’t work – for more than a week! – and how their courses can help change your relationship with food and eating.

Tune in or listen online from 10am to 12 noon this Sunday to find out about the new free course starting on Thursday 21 April at Newark Library and how clients like Lucy Drury have turned their lives around, thanks to the practical skills and tools they’ve learned from Lesley and Liz.

A crafty collection

a little bird told me 2It’s no secret that the Girls Around Town like shopping.

If they’re not doing it, they’re talking about it – and June for one has never been known to pass up the opportunity to check out a new shop in town…

So when A Little Bird Told Me Emporium opened last month, it wasn’t long before she dropped in to meet owner Louise Clark. And, just in case you’re wondering, she didn’t leave the shop empty-handed – no surprise there then!

Louise will be joining June and Sue on the show this weekend to talk about how her new venture is giving local crafters the chance to showcase and sell their work.

Almost all of the shabby chic arts and crafts on sale are hand-made and the shop also sells upcycled old furniture which has been given a new lease of life.

Twenty-five people are already involved with A Little Bird Told Me, some of whom will be passing their skills on to customers by running workshops on topics such as flower arranging and furniture painting. There’s also a small tea room at the back of the shop and a weekly pop-up nail bar offering vintage-style designs.

Join June, Sue and Louise between 10am and 12 noon on Sunday, on air or online, to find out more about how one local businesswoman is giving other small businesses a helping hand…

What’s your clothing personality?

If you were listening to the show last Sunday, you’ll have heard Tina and Sue having all kinds of fun talking to Lisa Newport about finding your personal style.

Whenever she starts working with a new client, one of the first things Lisa does is get her to take a Clothing Personality Quiz, which helps to identify the client’s dominant style. Is it classic or creative, romantic or dramatic, natural or fashionista?

The quiz is usually only available to Lisa’s customers but guess what? She’s kindly agreed to share it with the Girls Around Town, which means they can share it with you!

So here it is – just follow this link and give it a go – you may be surprised by what you learn.

And if you’re inspired to take it further,  why not check out Lisa’s website for details of her self-image workshops, one-to-one consultations and online programmes? Just head over to My Ruby Slippers to find out more…
