An all-round healing experience

How time flies when you’re having fun! Hard to believe it’s been almost exactly a year since Sunita Passi joined the Girls Around Town to talk about Ayurveda and the launch of her new Neem range…

She’ll be back in the studio again this weekend, talking about the role of meditation in promoting mental health and spreading the word about ThinKNotts, an event taking place in Nottingham on Saturday 13 May.

Organised by Unplugged Space, a group of holistic therapists Sunita helped to create, its aim is to bring together over 1,000 people for a mass meditation in the city centre’s Old Market Square. With the chance to try yoga (including laughter yoga), sample holistic treatments and even take a dip in a sound bath also on offer during the day, it’s sure to be an all-round healing experience for everyone taking part.

Tune in or listen online between 10am and 12 noon on Sunday to find out more about ThinKnotts – and, with Homeopathy Awareness Week running from Tuesday 11 to Sunday 16 April, to hear Fiona explaining why, despite being 200 years old, homeopathy is still ahead of its time.

She’ll have details too of Just One Drop, a new film about to be released in the UK which sets out to help more people understand what homeopathy can achieve.

House rules

It’s often said you never get a second chance to make a first impression…

A cliché maybe but, as with most clichés, there’s definitely a grain of truth to it – and never more so than when your house is up for sale and the people you’re keen to impress are potential buyers.

Whether it’s online or in TV makeover programmes, if you’re thinking of moving there’s no shortage of advice on the subject. But if you’re looking for a few top tips or even a little assistance putting them into practice, help is at hand from Home Sweet Home‘s Portia Green.

She’ll be joining the Girls Around Town next weekend to explain how simple things such as room staging could make all the difference when it comes to getting a quicker sale.

What do people look at – and for – when buying a house? Just how important is kerb appeal? And does it really make a difference if your home smells of freshly baked bread or brewing coffee?!

June and Sue will be chatting to Portia in the studio and, with her own recent experience of buying and selling, Sue’s sure to have plenty to say.

Tune in or listen online between 10am and 12 noon on Sunday for a few home truths from Portia and the Girls Around Town

The Italian job

Could there possibly be a better job than this? Who wouldn’t want to spend their time eating their way round Italy?!

June for one would be at the front of the queue for the post and Tina and Sue wouldn’t be far behind. But sad to say, next Sunday’s guest got there first…

From gelato in San Gimignano to donkey stew in Mantova, Jane Keightley’s been there, tried them and written about them – along with a host of other culinary delights – in her blog, Mrs K Eats Her Way Around Italy.

She’ll be in the studio next weekend to talk about what inspired her to set out on her travels, sharing a few of her favourite moments and no doubt comparing notes with the Girls Around Town about their own choices of dishes to die for!

Although Italy is her first love, Jane’s a big fan of her home county of Lincolnshire too and she’s made it her mission to spread the word about the many jewels in its crown, so often overlooked by travel magazines and guides.

She’s determined to prove that it’s not just ‘flat, boring and full of cabbage fields’ and that once you visit it, you’ll never view Lincolnshire in the same way again!

Tune in or listen online between 10am and 12 noon on Sunday when Jane joins June, Tina and Sue for a whistle-stop tour of two very different but equally enticing destinations.
