Getting crafty for Christmas!

It’s official – the countdown to Christmas has begun…

Time for the Girls Around Town to start getting into the festive spirit and where better to begin than with news of a series of Christmas workshops, especially one that involves chocolate?

Joining June and Claire next weekend, Amanda Stone will be sharing all the details of the seasonal events on the Rural Antics programme over the next couple of months.

Whether you want to add a personal touch to your presents or give wreath-making a go, create your own wire angel or add a touch of style to the table with a stunning centrepiece, the programme has something to fit the bill.

Then of course there’s the chocolate truffle making experience when you’ll not only be feasting your way through the morning of Sunday 24 November but will leave laden with goodies to share with family and friends…

And as if all of that isn’t enough to tempt you to book a place on one of the workshops, did you know that they’re held at the Hanwell Wine Estate, a family-run vineyard at Hickling Pastures near Melton Mowbray?

Yes, you guessed it – while you’re there you can stock up on English wines for those Christmas meals and drinks parties, including their very own new rosé!

Tune in to 107.8FM or listen online from 10am to 12 noon next Sunday to find out from Amanda just how and when you can get crafty this Christmas…

Getting on track with Coach Cath

When Cathie Babbington joined the Girls Around Town for the first time, she and fellow members of the Bilsthorpe Ladies Running Club were celebrating recent achievements of this Run England group.

Almost four years later the ladies in Bilsthorpe are still going strong, with their 10th anniversary coming soon. But back in the studio next weekend, she’ll be talking about a different kind of running!

A qualified life coach, management coach and small business coach for sole traders and start ups, she’ll be describing how, as well as running her own business, Coach Cath UK, she also finds time to teach at various institutes, including Grantham College, and lecture for BPP London University on Change Management and Business Strategy.

And how earlier this week, she announced yet another string added to her bow, that of co-ordinator for the newly-formed MiBA Bassetlaw Networking Group

Tune in to 107.8FM or listen online between 10am and 12 noon next Sunday to hear what Cathie has to say about how to choose a coach, what benefits clients get from life coaching with her and the kind of businesses she works with on a regular basis.

Find out too how you can sign up for the three free Life Hacks which she promises will bring positive change into your life.

And, if there’s time, perhaps she’ll explain to June and Rosalyn what she means when she tells followers of her blog that it’s OK to be a hippo!!

Cath will get not only get you ‘on track’ she will get the ‘train going at full speed’

Say hello to the new girl in town!

Cast your mind back to early last month and you may remember Claire Clements popping into the studio to talk about how she helps clients achieve Blissful Balance in their lives.

Or even further back to the beginning of June, when she made her first appearance on the show to talk about the  power of Positive Pants

Guests on Girls Around Town invariably say how much they enjoy spending their Sunday mornings with June Rachel and Rosalyn but Claire went one step further and, to everyone’s delight, offered to get involved on a regular basis.

So meet the new girl in town – from next month, she’s joining the team as a regular guest presenter!

Claire will be making her debut in November, sharing some of her own thoughts on the topics of the day and giving June a helping hand when they talk to guest Amanda Stone about Christmas-themed events and workshops at Hanwell Estates.

Dates are already in the diary for her to be back in December and January and hopefully they’ll be just the first of many.

But for now, make sure you tune in to 107.8FM or listen online between 10am and 12 noon on Sunday 10 November to hear her make that debut.

And, in the meantime, find out more about Claire here
