Tackling tummy troubles

It’s just over a year since naturopath and colonic hydrotherapist Linda Booth last joined the Girls Around Town in the studio. But she’ll be back this weekend to offer more advice on what to do if your digestive system’s not quite up to scratch right now…

Widely known as the Tummy Queen, Linda’s career in natural medicine began over a quarter of a century ago, in 1992. Since 2005, she’s been running one of the UK’s most successful natural digestive and gut disorders clinics and has carried out over 60,000 consultations and treatments.

Putting her knowledge and experience to good use, she’s created her own range of probiotics and supplements, Just For Tummies, and she’ll be chatting to Rosalyn and June about how optimising your digestion can increase your energy levels and give you more zest for life.

“In my experience, irritable bowel syndome (IBS), bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, indigestion, heartburn, acid reflux, fatty liver, excess gas, thrush and urinary tract infections (UTIs) can all be alleviated,” says Linda. “It’s simply a matter of knowing and understanding what is causing your symptoms and then adopting a tailored supplementation plan.”

Tune in or listen online between 10am and 12 noon on Sunday to find more about IBS in particular, as Linda explains just what it is, what causes it and – crucially – what cures it!

Handmade with love

Newark’s Royal Market will soon be buzzing on the last Sunday of every month, as local crafters join forces to bring their handmade goodies to town…

With the first Artisan Market taking place from 9.30am to 4pm on Sunday 25 March, organisers Louise Clark and Melanie Luff will be in the studio with June next weekend to talk about the treasure trove of treats in store for visitors in the months to come.

They’ll be taking a look back at some of the Craft Markets held last year and describing how, with the support of Newark Town Council, they’re building on their success to make events like these a regular feature in the town centre.

There’ll be news too of the Spring Extravaganza for Jake’s American Dream, held at Stoke Rochford Hall on Sunday 4 March, and of the special two-day Artisan Fayre over the Bank Holiday weekend of Sunday 27 and Monday 28 May.

Tune in on 107.8fm or on DAB digital radio or listen online to Girls Around Town between 10am and 12 noon next Sunday to find out more.

And if you’re looking for something a little bit different to enjoy, don’t forget to put the last Sunday of every month in your diary!

The girls are back in town!

At last, the news you’ve all been waiting for – Girls Around Town is back! And with a little help from the first guest of 2018, things will be getting off to a scintillating start with the pulling of a cork – or maybe two…

Join June and Rachel as they raise a glass for a double celebration with Helenka Brown, launching GAT#2 with some of the very first wines grown, pressed and bottled at Hanwell Wine Estate in the rolling countryside of South Nottinghamshire.

Tune in or listen online from 10am to 12 noon on Sunday 4 March to find out what’s in store for the show this spring, when among other things the girls will be joined by members of the new Sunday Supplement team who’ll be sharing their take on some of the hot topics of each month.

Sip, sip, hooray!!
