Dispelling the myths of colon hydrotherapy

If you were listening to Girls Around Town this morning, you’ll have heard The Tummy Queen Linda Booth explaining why there’s nothing to fear about colon hydrotherapy.

But sometimes actions speak louder than words…

So here’s Linda putting one of her clients at ease during a treatment at the Nottingham Health & Wellbeing Clinic.

Don’t worry – it’s been watched by over 700,000 people on YouTube and you won’t be seeing anything you might prefer not to!

Making things beautiful and making beautiful things

Believe it or not, it’s been five months since Tina Bettison relinquished her role as a presenter on Girls Around Town to open her new studio and gallery in Southwell – goodness, how time flies!

But she didn’t take much persuading to return to Radio Newark for next weekend’s show, when she’ll be talking about how a series of workshops, exhibitions and demonstrations has already put BELOVED@THEBARN firmly on the map with customers and fellow creatives alike.

Tina will be joining June on Sunday to explain how what she calls ‘this wee corner of the world’ combines contemporary art, homewares with history and creative space. And how it was born from love and from her love of making beautiful things and making things beautiful…

There’ll be news too of some of the activities and events in store at The Barn for spring and summer, including details of the Southwell Studios Trail, part of the Open Studios Notts programme in May and June.

Tune in on 107.8fm or on DAB digital radio or listen online from 10am to 12 noon on Sunday to find out why, in Tina’s own words, ‘BELOVED@THEBARN isn’t just a place, it’s a community’…

Tackling tummy troubles

It’s just over a year since naturopath and colonic hydrotherapist Linda Booth last joined the Girls Around Town in the studio. But she’ll be back this weekend to offer more advice on what to do if your digestive system’s not quite up to scratch right now…

Widely known as the Tummy Queen, Linda’s career in natural medicine began over a quarter of a century ago, in 1992. Since 2005, she’s been running one of the UK’s most successful natural digestive and gut disorders clinics and has carried out over 60,000 consultations and treatments.

Putting her knowledge and experience to good use, she’s created her own range of probiotics and supplements, Just For Tummies, and she’ll be chatting to Rosalyn and June about how optimising your digestion can increase your energy levels and give you more zest for life.

“In my experience, irritable bowel syndome (IBS), bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, indigestion, heartburn, acid reflux, fatty liver, excess gas, thrush and urinary tract infections (UTIs) can all be alleviated,” says Linda. “It’s simply a matter of knowing and understanding what is causing your symptoms and then adopting a tailored supplementation plan.”

Tune in or listen online between 10am and 12 noon on Sunday to find more about IBS in particular, as Linda explains just what it is, what causes it and – crucially – what cures it!
