The first steps to making your wardrobe really work for you

Looking for a few hints and tips on how to declutter your wardrobe?

Look no further – this week’s guest on Girls Around Town is here to help!

Joining June in the second hour of the show, personal stylist Michelle Wright will be sharing a little bit of advice to ensure that, whenever you’re looking for something to wear, the words of American writer Amy Fine Collins will ring true…

Opening up your wardrobe should be like arriving at a really good party where everyone you see is someone you like

Known to clients and followers on social media as Mrs Stylewright, Michelle will be explaining why and how she became a stylist and how she now spends her time helping women build their confidence through what they wear and making sure that when they look in the mirror they love the person looking back at them.

She’ll have news too of how she did just that for some of the ladies at Deborah Firmstone’s recent fundraising Swishing Event in Grantham before it’s down to the real nitty gritty…

That all-important wardrobe cleanse that she insists isn’t just about throwing stuff out!

“It’s about making your wardrobe work for you, helping you to style what you already have and making a wish list of items to help you achieve your dream wardrobe,” says Michelle, who’ll have those hints and tips to help you do just that.

Don’t forget Put On Your Sunday Best on 107.8FM, on the apps or online this weekend to join Michelle and June, who’s expecting their chat will encourage her to finish the wardrobe clear out she started over the Christmas/New Year break…

And no doubt give her an excuse to draw up that wish list ready for the summer months ahead!

Time for Mee and You to connect

No, that’s not meant as a description of what happens on Girls Around Town every week and it’s definitely not a combined spelling mistake and grammatical error either.

It’s the title of a brand new networking event coming to town next month…

And when you learn that the name of the guest joining June in the studio next Sunday to tell you all about it is Marie Elizabeth Edwards, you’ll realise just why she’s chosen to call it that!

If you’re a woman living or working in or around Newark looking to connect with other like-minded ladies, this event is definitely for you and you’ll probably want to tell your female friends and colleagues about it too.

So make sure you – and they! – get Thursday 31 March in the diary without delay and don’t forget to Put On Your Sunday by tuning in to 107.8FM or listening on the apps, on Alexa or online in the second hour of next weekend’s show to find out from Marie just what’s in store on what she promises will be a fun-filled day.

In the meantime, if you haven’t already done so you need to join the Facebook group Mee and You Networking for the latest updates about the event, along with details of how and where to book your tickets to join Marie and all the others over at Kelham Hall at the end of March…

With a bit of luck, June herself will be able to make the date – she’s really looking forward to meeting up with some old friends and making a few new ones as well!

A fun-filled festival that’s packed with positivity

It’s getting on for almost three years since Claire Clements popped into the Radio Newark studio to announce the launch of her brand new Positively Empowered Kids Festival.

And now she’s back on Girls Around Town next weekend to share some of the details of the next one!

Of course, she’s been behind the mic or on the phone to June several times since that initial on air chat, with news of all the other events and activities she’s been running to help kids build their confidence and understand the importance of gratitude and positivity…

And most recently to talk to about her best-selling book, Put On Your Positive Pants, an uplifting and empowering story that introduces you and your children to a variety of ways to boost their mood when they’re feeling sad.

But putting together the 2022 festival is top of her list right now and if the one back in 2019 – packed with everything from yoga, circus skills and wellbeing crafts to making healthy food, family massage and tai chi – is anything to go by, those kids are in for a day full of fun in September!

Make sure you Put On Your Sunday Best – and your Positive Pants too – to join June and Claire in the second hour of next week’s show on 107.8FM, on the apps or online to find out what’s already on the cards for the festival, how you can keep up to date with other activities being added over the coming weeks and months…

And of course how to book tickets for the big day when they’re up for grabs!
