A big shout out to our Facebook friend Annie Turner, who brought this track to our attention today…
It has to be one for the GAT playlist – maybe we could even make our own video, doing a ‘Bananarama’ somewhere around town!!

Fancy a lovely lunch with a fashion show and the opportunity for a bit of retail therapy thrown in for good measure?
The next Beaumond House Ladies Who Lunch takes place on Monday 28 April at Caunton Beck and Girls Around Town‘s June Rowlands will be among the models showing off super summer outfits from Phase Eight, perfect timing if you’re thinking of holidays to come…
Tickets, priced £25 each, include a welcome drink on arrival at 12 noon, a delicious two-course lunch with coffee – and there’ll be a goody bag for every guest, a raffle and plenty of time to chat and shop!
All proceeds from the event go to Beaumond House Community Hospice in Newark – to book your ticket, call Julie at Caunton Beck on 01636 636793.
Last November, Tina and June joined the exhibitors in the Riding Stables and Courtyard at Thoresby with a stand at one of the twice-yearly FoodFests, showcases for some of the best food and drink from local artisan and independent retailers.
Over two days, they handed out more than 1500 copies of Around Town magazine, sweetening the offering with nearly 900 scrummy little chocolate brownie bites courtesy of Southwell-based All Mine Cakes.
These FoodFests may not the biggest food and drink shows around but the fabulous location, the intimate atmosphere and the quality of the produce on sale combine to make sure they’re up there among the best.
So, if you’re a foodie, take a tip from the Silver Sisters and make sure you save the date for a visit to the next one!
The Thoresby Spring FoodFest 2014 takes place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April. It’s open from 10am to 4pm both days, with admission and parking both free.
Alongside fabulous food to try and buy, you’ll find kitchenware and books on offer and, in the cookery theatre, a programme of demonstrations by local chefs throughout the weekend too. And, just for the kids, an Easter Egg Hunt with a prize for every participant…
