From guilt to growth

If you’re a mum in business, the story this week’s guest on Girls Around Town will be sharing could well be one you’ll want to hear…

And maybe even one that rings a few bells with you too!

A psychotherapist and the founder of Mind Peace, mother of two Mina Ahmed runs her business from home and, since November 2018, has been on a mission to support hundreds of other mums after her own challenges during her postnatal depression, her past traumas and a challenged relationship with her parents had left her lost, lonely and in a very dark place.

Mina will be live in the studio in the second hour of the show, joining June to explain how, since launching Mind Peace four years ago, she’s completed no fewer than 80,000 hours of workshops, public speaking, research and client work around stress, anxiety and trauma emotions.

She’ll have news of her first self-development help book, following the journeys of three mothers in business challenged with mum-guilt and sharing their breakthroughs as she worked with each one of them to transform them from guilt to growth

And of the brand new eight-week group programme she’ll be launching in just over a couple of weeks’ time to help others do exactly that too!

To hear Mina’s story, the stories of some of the mums she’s worked with and how and where you can find out more, don’t forget to Put On Your Sunday Best on 107.8FM, on the apps, on Alexa or online from just after 11am this weekend.

And make sure you’re listening to the show from 10am for all the latest updates of what’s going on in and around Newark over the coming weeks as well…

Catching up with Newark Patriotic Fund’s Jayne and Louise

In case you missed last Sunday‘s Girls Around Town, here’s another chance to hear what Jayne Mason and Louise Rumble had to say when they joined June live on air in the second hour of the show.

All the details of the work done by the Newark Patriotic Fund and their own roles where its events in the town are concerned…

And in particular, lots of information about a very special one coming to The Palace Theatre on Friday 4 November!

Two special events in Newark this November

If you’re starting to add dates to your diary for the rest of 2022, especially in the run up to Christmas, this week’s guests on Girls Around Town will be sharing details of a couple you might want to put on your list for November!

Live in the studio in the second hour of the show, Newark Patriotic Fund‘s events chairman Jayne Mason will be chatting to June about the charity’s work, its regular meetings here in the town centre and a special concert it will be hosting in just a few weeks’ time.

Featuring the Cranwell RAF College Band and the Cranwell Military Wives, the concert takes place at the Palace Theatre on Friday 4 November.

“We’re delighted to be bringing this event to our town,” says Jayne. “Newark and the Lincolnshire village of Cranwell have a great relationship but that’s not all – it’s very rare for the college band and the military wives to perform together so we’re definitely in for a special treat when they do so at the Palace.”

Jayne will of course have details of how and where to get tickets for the concert but if you don’t want to wait until the weekend to book yours, just follow this link to do it now.

Earlier in the show, when June’s joined by one of her fellow Radio Newark managers, there’ll be news of another great event coming to town soon.

Clare Atherley will be popping in at about 10.20am to reveal all – until then, it’s a closely guarded secret but in the meantime, just a couple of hints…

This one will be part of the Christmas Lights Switch On which takes place on Sunday 27 November and will be raising money for another really good cause here in Newark.

Make sure you Put On Your Sunday Best on 107.8FM, on the apps, on Alexa or online from 10am to find out more from Clare…

And don’t forget to stay tuned through into the second hour of the show to hear what Jayne has to say about the Newark Patriotic Fund and its special event too!
