What Katie does now

On this week’s show the Girls Around Town are joined by an old friend whose new role has the be the stuff that dreams are made of.

June, Tina and Sue first met Katie Donohoe last summer when, as manager of The Children’s Society charity shop, she organised a hugely successful fashion show in the parish church. Now managing Newark’s Vintage2Versace, she has what many of us would consider to be the perfect job.

v2v chanelSpending your working day surrounded by glamorous vintage and couture clothes – researching, buying and selling fabulous outfits and accessories – giving talks about the history of fashion and organising photo shoots and other fashion-inspired events – come on ladies, what’s not to like about that?!

Tune in from 10am to 1pm this Saturday, on 107.8FM or online, to hear just what Katie does now and find out about some of the upcoming events that are a must for any stylish girl around town

A chance to have your say

get involvedNo guests on the show this Saturday – it’s just June, Tina and Sue chatting about some of the things that have caught their attention in the news or on the net recently.

Which means there’ll be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved, a chance to join in the conversation – it’s your show too, after all!

Here are just a couple of things to get you thinking…

  • In a recent issue of Vanity Fair, Samantha Cameron topped the list of the world’s most stylish women – but who would get your vote?
  • New figures from Ofcom show that emails, texts and Facebook messages are rapidly replacing traditional birthday cards. Do you still send cards to family and friends? And which would you prefer to receive – an electronic greeting or a ‘real’ card through the post?

Tune in to 107.8FM or listen online from 10am to 1pm – the studio line (01636 678033) will be open for your calls – you can email the girls on studio@radionewark.co.uk – or post your comments on the Girls Around Town Facebook page.

And in the meantime if you spot anything you think would interest other listeners, why not let the girls know?
