Welcome to GIRLS AROUND TOWN, Radio Newark FM‘s weekly show by, for and about women – although it seems we have a growing audience of men listening in when we’re on air these days…
Talking of joining, a big welcome to the newest member of the team Claire, who made her debut as a monthly guest presenter from November…
And that’s not all because we’ve talked Cathie Babbington into becoming our regular business guru too. She’ll be in the studio every two or three months to share her hints and tips on how to Mind Your Own Business every two or three months – watch this space for Cathie’s own page where she’ll tell you a bit more about herself!
Radio Newark’s answer to Loose Women and Woman’s Hour, the show is an entertaining (we hope!) mix of news and views, guests and gossip with a generous sprinkling of good music.
From food and festivals to wellbeing and wine, chocolate and cheese to books and bags – and lots more besides – we’ve got it covered with a little help from our lovely guests. Mostly but not exclusively girls around town themselves, they come from all walks of life but have one thing in common. Each of them has a story, either personal or professional, to share with us and we want to share it with you too.
Find out what’s in store for the shows in our weekly blog posts – and if you want to join in the conversations, make sure you’re following Radio Newark and Girls Around Town on social media.
If you’re already a regular listener, thanks for joining us but if not, why not give us a try? Tune in to 107.8FM or listen online – but if you’re busy on a Sunday morning you don’t need to miss out because our interviews are podcast for you to catch later on.
We’re out and about all the time, at networking events, launches and parties (it’s a tough job but someone has to do it!), meeting people who might like to join us in the studio as guests, either on a regular basis or as a ‘one-off’ to talk about a specific event, achievement or activity.
So if you have an interesting story to tell or you’re an expert in a field you think would be of interest to GAT listeners, why not get in touch? We promise you’ll find it fun, it’s just like sitting and chatting with friends over a cup of coffee – and chocolate or cakes are even provided on occasion..
If that sounds like something you’d like to do, find out how to contact us here – we’d love to hear from you!!
