tasty-tale-heroHere’s something for anyone with kids aged seven and over – a very special show that’s coming to your local library next month…

Written by Noel Greig and packed with plenty of music, laughter and scary bits, A Tasty Tale is an exciting re-working of the much-loved fairy story, Hansel and Gretel.

Two hungry children abandoned in the woods. A delicious house made of gingerbread. Hansel is not as brave as he boasts he is. Gretel is bolder than she thought she could be. The witch has a scheme that doesn’t quite work out. And the duck learns just how wise he can be…

Tickets for library members are £2 for children and free for accompanying adults (£4 each for children and adults who are non-library members). Advance booking is essential – call or visit the library (each library only stocks tickets or its own date/venue) or book online.

A feast of festive cheer

christmas shoppingFrom jewellery and jam to cakes and crafts, you’ll find a feast of festive cheer on offer at the Beaumond House Christmas Market next month.

Open from 11am till 7pm on Monday 7 December in the Cedric Ford Pavilion at Newark Showground, it’s the ideal opportunity to stock up on tasty treats and perfect presents for Christmas.

With refreshments available throughout the day, there’ll be cards, cheese, wine and gifts on sale too – everything you need to get ready for the festive season, while helping to raise money for a worthy cause…

Tickets are £5 on the door or buy in advance for £4 (plus 50p p&p if bought online), with under 16s admitted free.

From Wednesday 18 November to Saturday 19 December, you’ll find a tempting array of textiles, paintings and jewellery on display and for sale.

Admission is free and opening hours are 10.30am to 3.30pm from Monday to Saturday.
