On the right track

It’s Sue‘s turn for a day off this week, leaving June and Tina to share the driving seat on the show.

Cue sound effects from The Leader of the Pack, because joining them in the studio will be Sarah English who’s making a pit stop at Radio Newark to talk about her slightly unusual hobby…

Unusual for a woman, that is – at the risk of giving in to stereotyping, just how many other females share her passion not only for restoring old motorcyles but for racing round the track too?

Then again, maybe more than you might think – but that’s one of the questions Sarah will be answering on the Girls Around Town this Saturday.

Tune in or listen online from 10am till 1pm to find out why and how she got started, what happens on track days and what it was like working as a member of the pit crew at the Isle of Man TT.

Not to mention how she got on when she had a go at motogymkhana, described by the editor of Performance Bikes as ‘the most insane, non-lethal motorcycle sport‘!

Sally’s road to discovery and recovery

It was all about journeys last Saturday, talking to Jackie Dunn about her life on the open road.

On this week’s show, the Girls Around Town will be finding out about a journey of a different kind when their guest Sally Canning joins them in the studio…

A mentor, teacher and catalyst for women’s personal growth and transformation, for years Sally has been providing support and guidance for professional women who feel as if they have lost themselves and lost their way.

She has helped many women across the world on their journey of personal discovery and recovery, guiding them to explore possibilities they knew were there but didn’t know how to access.

Then, late last year, the woman who was always there for others suddenly needed that support for herself. Diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer, Sally began her own journey of discovery and recovery…

Tune in or listen online from 10am to 1pm as June, Tina and Sue find out how she has defied medical expectation so far, how she’s coped, what she’s discovered and how she’s bringing all these new experiences into her work with others.
