An exclusive invitation to shop!

We don’t know many ‘girls around town’ out there who need an excuse to shop but how’s this for a little encouragement?

gracegentle new interiorOn Wednesday 19 March, from 6pm to 9pm, Denise Starkey is hosting an exclusive shopping evening at Gracegentle, 25a Castlegate in Newark. Enjoy a glass of fizz, browse for beautiful gifts and support a local charity while you do so – how can you possibly say no?!

There’ll be greetings cards by Caroline Greene on sale too, as well as a free gift bag for everyone who attends.

Both Denise and Caroline will be donating a percentage of sales on the evening to Newark Women’s Aid and the proceeds of a raffle will also be donated to this very worthy cause.

With Mothering Sunday on 30 March, the timing couldn’t be better – treat your mum (and yourself!) to something gorgeous from Gracegentle and enjoy a fun night out too…

And as an extra treat – why not take advantage of a special two-for-one offer at Danube Restaurant, 25 Castlegate? Valid only on the evening of Wednesday 19 March – places are limited so book in advance on 01636 610661.

Carnival set to bring the sound of music to Newark’s streets

newark carnivalNewark’s biggest free event will be bringing the town alive with music on Sunday 22 June – it’s Carnival time again and this year’s theme looks set to attract more groups and spectators than ever to the party.

The call has gone out for participants to bring Bhangra to Bridge Street, pop to Portland Street and Latino to Lombard Street – whatever your musical style, the organisers want you to beat the drum and get ready to dance, sing and fill the air with the sound of music!

Free, family-friendly and lots of fun, the Carnival kicks off at 2pm in the Market Place – head on over to newarkcarnival.com for all the latest news, suggestions for musical themes for your float and details of how to register your group…
