Take time for tea

bh floral media ladies afternoon - croppedWe all deserve a little ‘me time’ once in a while – and if it comes with afternoon tea and an opportunity for a spot of retail therapy, what more could we ask?

From 12 noon to 5pm on Sunday 7 June, Floral Media in Caunton will be hosting an Afternoon of Indulgence, raising funds for Beaumond House Community Hospice.

Tickets are £25 each and with a fashion show and pamper parlour too, not to mention a glass of Pimms on arrival and a goody bag for every guest, it sounds like a great way to spend a summer afternoon.

It’s already in the Girls Around Town‘s diaries – to get it in yours, just click Join Us here or call the Beaumond House Fundraising Team on 01636 610556.

Real stories, real women and a great night out

A brand new comedy about dating, men and finding Mr Right comes to Newark Palace Theatre this summer.

Sex in Suburbia will make you laugh and cry in equal measure – and with plenty of sensational songs such as I’m Every Woman, I Want To Break Free and Somebody Else’s Guy, you’ll probably find yourself dancing in the aisles too…

Claire Sweeney stars as Penny Crowe, the host of a late-night radio phone-in. As Britain’s leading Agony Aunt, she takes calls about every date from hell and the occasional one from heaven. She’s more than happy to dish out relationship advice, but is she as happy to take it…?

Co-written by Claire and based on real stories from real women – just like Girls Around Town, of course – this is the story of all our lives!

Tickets for the show, at 7.30pm on Sunday 24 May, are £22.50 (concessions £21.50, Friends of the Palace £21) and are available from the theatre on Appletongate in Newark or online here
