The spotlight will be on two of our local villages in Saturday’s show, when the Girls Around Town take a look at what’s happening out in Flintham and Lowdham this month.
Living in Flintham, Tina’s got the inside track on the new exhibition in its award-winning museum and she’ll be talking to Sue Clayton shortly before it opens to the public at 11am.
Keeping the Home Fires Burning? is a free interactive exhibition about the impact of World War I on the village and its residents. Visitors on Saturday and Sunday – 11am to 4pm both days – will even have chance to decide how well villagers coped during and after the war, with each one given an old penny to use as they cast their vote.
Then the girls will be getting the lowdown on this year’s Lowdham Book Festival from their second guest of the day, Jane Streeter…
Now in its 16th year, this popular event celebrates books of every genre, with talks, treasure hunts and music all on the menu between Friday 19 and Sunday 28 June.
For all this and more, join June, Tina and Sue and their guests on 107.8FM or online from 10am to 1pm on Saturday.
