With Valentine’s Day looming, here’s a way to spread a little love, not just to your partner but to a local charity too…
Flower Pod Southwell and Gannets Café in Newark have joined forces to help you do just that, with beautiful bouquets and handmade crafts that make perfect gifts for next Saturday.
Pop into the café on Castlegate to check out some of the items on display and get your order in to make somebody’s Valentine’s Day extra special. And if you don’t have a Valentine, who’s to say you can’t just treat yourself instead?!
Around 30 volunteers from the charity have been busy making pretty little keepsakes, with handmade picture frames, rustic wreaths and hearts made from string and raffia, leaves, willow, poplar, dogwood, birch and bramble all available to buy.
And if you’re looking for a more traditional token of your affection, Flower Pod will have a limited number of sustainably produced British bouquets available to order this week. Priced £20, £25 and £30, they can be collected from the Southwell site or the Reach office, delivered locally or posted for an extra £12 (Thursday or Friday delivery) or £17 (Saturday delivery).
All proceeds will go to help the work of Reach (formerly known as The Southwell Care Project), a registered charity that supports over 150 adults with learning disabilities in Nottinghamshire by running courses, social activities and projects to help people get the life they want in their own community.
