Everything’s a pound!

pound coinsWe all love bargains, right? And where better to bag a few than in our local charity shops?

If you’re a dedicated bargain hunter, this has to be a date for your diary – for three hours only on Sunday 30 November, any item in the Children’s Society shop on Middlegate in Newark can be yours for just one pound!

That’s right – from 11am to 2pm hundreds of items of ladies’ clothing will be up for grabs in this special sale, everything from tops and trousers to dresses and even coats.

And that’s not all. Kids’ clothing, jewellery, CDs, DVDs and games will all be two for £1 and you can pick up three books for £1 too!

With a tombola and cakes (yes, you’ve guessed it – they’re £1 as well), it all sounds like an opportunity that’s too good to be missed…

Food meets fashion for the Ladies Who Lunch

ladies who lunchGood food, good company and the chance to shop – how’s that for a winning combination?

Enjoy all three and help raise money for Beaumond House Community Hospice at their Ladies Who Lunch event at Caunton Beck on Monday 3 November.

Girls Around Town presenter June Rowlands will once again be among the models showing off some of the latest outfits and accessories from Phase Eight. Perfect timing if you’re looking for a few new items for your winter wardrobe or something special for the festive season…

Tickets, priced £25 each, include a welcome drink on arrival at 12 noon, a delicious two-course lunch with coffee – and there’ll be a goody bag for every guest, a raffle and plenty of time for that all-important retail therapy!

To book your ticket, call Julie at Caunton Beck on 01636 636793.

Designer donations wanted!

shoppingWith autumn/winter ranges in all the shops (and autumn/winter weather already upon us!), perhaps it’s time to think about freeing up some space in your wardrobe?

Plans are already well under way for the Beaumond House Designer Clothing Sale next spring and your unwanted outfits, shoes, handbags and accessories could help raise money for this local charity.

If you have designer items that no longer fit or you’ve never worn (don’t we all?!), just take them along to Beaumond House on London Road in Newark. Their last Designer Clothing Sale raised a whopping £25,000 for Newark’s Community Hospice – let’s help make the next one a record breaker!

And if you fancy bagging a bargain when the sale comes around, watch this space for details of the date and venue or get in touch with the Fundraising Team on 01636 610556.
