Food for thought

chocolate browniesLast November, Tina and June joined the exhibitors in the Riding Stables and Courtyard at Thoresby with a stand at one of the twice-yearly FoodFests, showcases for some of the best food and drink from local artisan and independent retailers.

Over two days, they handed out more than 1500 copies of Around Town magazine, sweetening the offering with nearly 900 scrummy little chocolate brownie bites courtesy of Southwell-based All Mine Cakes.

These FoodFests may not the biggest food and drink shows around but the fabulous location, the intimate atmosphere and the quality of the produce on sale combine to make sure they’re up there among the best.

So, if you’re a foodie, take a tip from the Silver Sisters and make sure you save the date for a visit to the next one!

The Thoresby Spring FoodFest 2014 takes place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April.  It’s open from 10am to 4pm both days, with admission and parking both free.
