Hats off to the Girls Around Town‘s good friend Kim Hurley, who’s getting ready to Brave The Shave on Saturday 13 August.
Brave Shaver Kim will be sacrificing her lustrous locks in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, raising money in memory of several family members and friends.
“In the past year both my husband’s aunt, Elaine Wishlade, and my friend Christine Weir have died of cancer,” she says. “I also lost my uncle James Carder to this horrible disease and just recently my cousin Heather White and Dale Pritchard, another cousin’s husband, have been diagnosed.
“This is for all of them, in hope that some day this terrible illness will be curable.”
Paul Carrington-Anderson of the award-winning Envy Signature Salon on Appletongate in Newark will be the one wielding the shaver a week on Saturday – watch this space for before, during and after pics as Kim puts herself in Paul’s expert hands…
In the meantime, you can show your support for her by helping her meet – or beat! – her goal to raise £700 for this worthy cause. There’ll be a collection box in the salon shortly or you can head over to her Brave the Shave page here to make a donation.
