Fantastic for fitness, friendly and fun – if you’ve never tried bowls, here’s your chance to give it a go.

Newark Northern Bowls Club will be celebrating the start of the season with an Open Day on Sunday 29 April – everyone’s invited and what’s more, it’s free!

Come on your own or bring family, friends or a group of workmates to the bowling green behind the tennis courts at Sherwood Avenue Park and, if you’ve never bowled before, you’ll find members of the club there ready to show you how.

Weather permitting, the Open Day starts at 2.30pm on Sunday – no special equipment necessary, just wear flat shoes.

And did we mention that there’ll be free refreshments on offer too?!
