pancake partySavoury or sweet, crepes or American-style – who doesn’t love pancakes?!

With Shrove Tuesday just over a couple of weeks away – 4 March, to be precise – here’s a fun idea for mums of pre-schoolers : a pancake party specially for them, at Mamma White’s Pancake Parlour on Stodman Street in Newark…

From 9.30am to 11.30am on Pancake Day, there’ll be games and singing with Joe Junior, as well as an opportunity for the tots to top their own pancakes before tucking in.

Places are limited, cost £6 per child and must be booked in advance – for more information and reservations, call 01636 704200 or email rebecca@mammawhites.co.uk

Hosted by Kelham Hall & Country Park in Newark, this landmark event takes place on Wednesday 9 April, from 9am to 12 noon. The (two) grand total

greaseLast Friday’s sing-along screening of Grease at Newark’s Palace Theatre was a huge success – a packed house, plenty of Pink Ladies, lots of singing along and even more dancing. There’s no doubt every member of the audience was having a ball!

And we’ve just found out that the event raised a whopping £2027.90 for Jo Lister’s Arctic Challenge in aid of Beaumond House Community Hospice.

Well done to everyone involved in the event and good luck to Jo, whose 120-kilometre trek across the Arctic is now just days away…
