It’s that time of year, when June, Tina and Sue begin getting out and about again – yes, the Girls Around Town are back on tour!

They’re still waiting for the fully-equipped tour bus, complete with personal stylist, make up artist, hairdresser and the rest, but in the meantime the invitations are starting to arrive.

With cupcakes and chocolate, cosmetics and crafts just a few of the treats on offer, you won’t be surprised to hear that they jumped at the chance of enjoying a Shopping Evening this Friday.

And they don’t even have to travel too far for this one, because it’s at Barnby Road Academy, the home of Radio Newark…

All proceeds from the evening go to the Barnby Road Friends Association, to be spent on the children at the school, and there’ll be a whole range of stalls selling gifts and goodies – what’s not to like about that?

On Sunday 15 May, the girls will be broadcasting live from the Nottinghamshire County Show – another shopping opportunity in the offing perhaps? – where they’re looking forward to meeting listeners and a couple of guests in the SMC motorhome between 10am and 12 noon.
