Looking for something to do this weekend that’s just a little bit different?
How about going to a hafla*?!
Taking place on Saturday 11 October at St Giles’ Church Hall on Main Street in Balderton, it’s a Belly Dance Show featuring members of the Newark-based belly dance troupe Jingle Belles.
Bring your own food and drink and enjoy an evening of colourful entertainment, with performances by dancers from Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire too, while helping to support a local charity – all proceeds from the event will go to The Newark Patriotic Fund.
Doors open at 7pm, the show starts at 7.30pm (ending between 10.30pm and 11pm) and there’ll stalls selling belly dancing goodies there too.
Admission is £5 for adults and £2.50 for under 16s; tickets will be available on the door or call Lesley Barnes on 01636 707785 to book in advance.
With members of all ages and abilities, the Jingle Belles meet every Monday from 7pm to 8pm at The Newark Academy Lilley & Stone site on London Road in Newark. New members are always welcome – give Lesley a call or email lesleydance@live.com to find out more.
